Liò is our first Border Collie, he grew up with 2 Briard ladies. Flu (BC bitch) joined in mid-2020 and Bri, Lio's daughter, in summer 2021. We (Bea + Enzo) live in rural Villigen, AG, Switzerland.

With more than 30 years experience in dog sport, cynology, as a lover breeder (+ studdog owner) of a other breed, but we had clear ideas of how our Border Collie should be ... so we searched for a long time for the mother of our future dog.

In particular, he should be free of genetic diseases (we were appalled how many such are in BC), very strong and not nervous and free of aggression or fear, black and long haired with ears up.

That's how we ordered him, and exactly so is our great Liò! We have never regretted it, he has exceeded our expectations a lot ....

Liò is descended from 2 famous, old and "healthy" working bloodlines (Wales + USA), which prove extraordinary qualities especially in herding (sheep/cattle).

 

Liò is very characterful and secure, very balanced in everyday life, always friendly, affectionate, cuddly and funny with all people and animals. He has no annoying ticks (as unfortunately many BCs).

​At work: he has maximum drive, a great will to the please, is extremely fast, manoeuvrable and works reliably with the head. (on the photo pages (agility, disc, sheep etc.) there is more information).

No matter what you do with him, he can do it all! He is realy talented and verry versability!

A true dream boy in every relationship! Anyone who has met Lio, does not forget him so quickly and is thrilled with his quiet, very captivating and extremly fast way of working and his loving nature in everyday life.

Liò works with Enzo very successfully in Agility 3. His "hobbies": "a bit" of Mondioring, IPO, Disc, Tracking, Shepherd and some obedience just for fun!

Liò was completely x-rayed, all results are perfect (evaluation officially CH).

So far, he has been tested 4 times by the eye specialist on all possible eye diseases, everything is perfect.

He has a total of 13 DNA tests, all are perfect and with DNA normal (clear) evaluated.

Because Liò has developed so excellently in absolutely all areas (character, health, performance and beauty), we approved him for breeding by the Swiss BorderCollieClub at the age of 2 1/2 years.

The overall assessment in the standard test (BC special judge): without complaints and conditions: compact, verry well proportioned muscular male with a expressive and powerfull head.

The character test (special judge SBCC) he has passed with ease and absolute brilliance.

Liò is fully licensed for breeding with the best results from BordercollieClub Switzerland: Selected & recommended for breeding from SBCC / SKG / FCI, for a lifetime (without conditions / restrictions).

We deliberately waited and carefully observed whether Liò or his relatives (his brother and sister had their first litter early on and everything was fine) whether any genetic defects would manifest (luckily this is still not the case today). We released Liò for breeding when he was 3 1/2 years old.

In 2018 he had 2 litters, the first health results were absolutely convincing, so that 4 litters followed in 2019 and another 4 in 2020.

Then we decided to take a longer break from breeding in order to be able to collect as many health results as possible.

In 2021 there were 2 more litters, from one our dream bitch Bri was born, who is now with us.

​Liò is available ONLY for healthy, tested and good character Border Collie bitches from bloodlines without knowing genetic diseases.

Of course, we know that there can be no 100% guarantee for any line, but we make every effort to make the best selection.

Mutual trust and honesty among the breeders are of course the important requirement for this!
