Liò is available ONLY for healthy and characterful Border Collie bitches without aggressions and fears from bloodlines without knowing genetic defects. We are absolutely aware that the perfect dog or 100% "healthy" bloodline does not exist. Targeted breeding is a selection and weighing of strengths and weaknesses. With the best of our knowledge and belief, we make every effort ... In order to be able to implement this, we rely on the closest trust of breeders who have the same breeding goal.

short summary at february 2023:
Liò is the father of 75 border collies living around the world.

A total of 82 born pups from 16 different litters, including 41 males and 41 females. 1 puppy was born dead, 2 during the too long birth and 3 died shortly after the birth. A male dog fell in the mountains when he was about 6 months old and died immediately. These are the sad parts!

So far Liò has mated all the bitches presented to him without any problems and 17 times with success. In 2019, one bitch resorbed and lost 6 puppies in the 2nd part of pregnancy, unfortunately we do not know the exact reason for this (very sad!). The same bitch gave birth to 6 puppies in June 2020 during the 2nd attempt at breeding with Lio.

Unfortunately, 1 bitch remained empty, what exactly is the reason for this remains unclear, the bitch was presented to Liò too late for sure... but she also had an injury-related infection.

What does Liò inherit?

We can be very, very satisfied with the results of Liò's offspring. So far, all of Liò's children from different bitches and bloodlines as well as different rearing methods have been very healthy, are very active in movement, are friendly and balanced. What is particularly striking is how Lio inherited his good character and strong nerves without exception. We are really happy!

 

Here is a small summary of what we see again and again in all of Liò's litters:

- so far, all offspring are perfect in the standard, full-toothed with correct scissor bites and free of genetic defects such as cryptorchid or

  others. Only 1 male has a small kinked tail since birth, which is barely visible today. (see health statistics below).

- many Lio children have inherited his expressive head with the long, strong snout.

- many of his puppies have Liò's trademark, the Z on the neck (no collar).

- even with bitches without genetic ears up, there was a lot of standing ears ... although the floppy ear is genetically dominant.

- without exception, Liò's offspring have temperament and power, the best prerequisites for all kinds of sports or as a farmer dog.

- the owners are happy with their joyful, persevering workers, who are also great family dogs, problemless and friendly in everyday life.

- we often recognize Liò's children by their smooth movements, the excellent back line, their coolness AND Liò's eyes.

We have met BorderCollies several times and saw at first glance that it must be a Lio offspring. So his good genes seems to go on in many ways! In every litter there is one or more little Liò, which are really extremely similar to him in appearance and style. This is a huge joy for all of us !

 

For data protection reasons, we are not allowed to publish the results of individual dogs here, so we have compiled a summary of all health results known to us. You can look at these below, the table will be updated about twice a year.
